"First Volume: On the Road to Chess Mastership (1882-1905)"

Oldrich Duras was one of the world`s leading chess players in the period leading up to the First World War and also one of its most active. He played in many of the leading events of the time and so frequently encountered the best of his contemporaries.

Primarily a tactician, he was responsible for a variation of the Ruy Lopez which is named after him.

This collection contains all of his games which the author has been able to find, many of them appearing for the first time since their original publication. The author also gives the most complete career record to appear to date and all of the available cross tables.
