A short passage from the introduction of Common positional play 10:

“There are many ways to look at positional play in draughts. And therefore, there are also many ways to train in draughts. It’s of course much more enjoyable, instructive, and stimulating to train in draughts using a variety of approaches. If you look back through this series, you’ll see that this is precisely the essence: exploring draughts from many different angles. And then trying to turn that exploration into something that resembles a method. Such as systematically describing a THIN POSITION, or a broad approach in OPENINGS, or a targeted look at STRUCTURES, or the systematic evaluation of USEFUL or USELESS attacks, or designing an entire system as in SYSTEM KORT. So it should come as no surprise that in this volume I’ll be presenting yet another perspective on draughts: MANOEUVRING, switching plans during a game. Shifting from one plan to another. One could argue that everything in draughts is about manoeuvring, but we can look at it in much more precise terms, and that’s exactly what we’ll do in this volume. We’ll examine manoeuvring step by step: starting with a practical definition, then linking it to different game types, discussing manoeuvring moments and entire manoeuvring games. Unsurprisingly, this volume is again largely based on my own varied experiences with manoeuvring. And perhaps also unsurprisingly, this volume has been difficult for me to write, maybe that's inherent to manoeuvring itself? I struggled to explain it well, to give it substance, and to come up with suitable exercises. All in all, I think it turned out reasonably well, and of course I hope it will be enjoyable and instructive. I believe it will make your thinking more flexible, which might be a worthwhile challenge for many draughts players.

Series!
The GPS/CPP series keeps growing: the question of whether I could reach ten volumes has now been answered successfully. The new question is: what next? The answer: this is the final volume, as I am unfortunately incurably ill and must prepare to say farewell to this beautiful (draughts) life.”
